Building Understanding: Painting Narratives of the Middle East

May 04, 2012

No artistic experience necessary, this project is for everyone! Come and participate: share, listen, learn, and paint!

From May 21-May 25, 2012, community mural artist Diana Gilon will facilitate this collaborative mural project designed to bring together people with diverse perspectives, experiences and curiosity related to the region.  This public community project offers an opportunity to work together productively and create a deepened, shared understanding on the UCSC campus.  Inspired by issues faced by Israelis and Palestinians, students will also have the opportunity to express through art how they experience similar issues within their own cultures and identities.  To see some of Gilon's previous projects, please visit Gilonprojects.weebly.com.
